The Daily Dig
I have always admired my friend Brad's exotic Tillandsia and Bromeliad collection. To my surprise, he called me one morning and asked if I wanted to go to the nursery where a good part of his collection had come from. An hour later and we arrived at Rainforest Flora Inc in Torrance, CA. I have been to many specialty nurseries but this one takes the cake. Imagine strolling through your favorite botanical conservatory where you are actually able to buy all the plants that surround and amaze you.
The entrance to Rainforest Flora Inc
I love the pinky tones in this Cryptanthus
A five foot tall Bromeliad...I want one!
This wall is dripping with Tillandsias
A selection of Tillandsias...I didn't know that some are very fragrant
A very happy Cycad
Rainforest Flora started in 1976 and specializes in Tillandsias, Bromeliads, Staghorn Ferns, Cycads and other exotics. They are dedicated to growing top quality Tillandsias for both wholesale and retail customers. RFI is also the oldest Tillandsia nursery in America. It's hard visiting this place without taking home a new plant that you didn't even know you wanted! Lucky us!...they have a great on-line store where you can purchase that must have and hard to find plant.
AMAZING!
I'm in love with the red Tillandsias
Not your average Staghorns
I wish this was my swimming pool!
A great specimen in bloom
I like the upright fronds on this Cycad
I wonder how many years it took to grow this Tillandsia ball

Steven,
It was fun sharing with you one of my favorite places. We need to go on another field trip soon. That is were your Platycerium superbum is from.
