Wow! I love cutting flowers and bringing them indoors. The color in the tropical foliage and the heliconia are amazing! And your right to buy those at the florist would be a small fortune!

Steve I see you grow Orchids. One of my doctors wants to grow some in his home. I don't know of anywhere around here to buy them but maybe you know of some places online that sell QUALITY orchids.

RainGardener-Check out orchids.com. Normans Orchids is a nursery in Montclair that owns orchids.com. I have bought many orchids from them through the years. They have orchids for the beginner to the serious collector and they deliver. The hardest part is choosing one!

Albin: I've been looking at prices for our wedding bouquet, and you would think that heliconias would be cheaper considering that they spread like weeds in the tropics: I'm sure that someone's making a killing!

SPF: Wow, serial plant fetishist abbreviates to spf. Who knew? I'm from Jacksonville, where its too cold to grow stuff like this, but I'm too stubborn. :)

Raingardener: I do know that http://www.greenearthnursery.net/ has some really affordable orchids (check outh the super cattleya sale) in a wide variety, and the quality is superb. They're out of Jacksonville but they have an online storefront. I'll check out orchids.com too!
