The Daily Dig
Here's a new way to help people understand your garden layout, with the help of google earth. The cover image shows my lot taken from above and facing North. The white roofs belong (from front to back) to the greenhouse, birdroom and the covered area that includes the garden bed and begonia wall. Just to the right of these you might be able to make out the green shadecloth over the shade structure.
Here is the garden seen facing South
On the left side (as seen in the above photo) of those white roofs is the back garden, where I've been gardening longer.
You can make out parts of the gravel entry garden, the back and near paths, and the corner deck.
And here is the drawing of the side portion of the garden:
The most prominent portion of the side garden is the paver driveway.
The gazebo and the deck it sits on were built a long time ago and the area beyond used to be a vegetable garden.
Out beyond the meadow garden, along the bank of Strawberry creek, I'm developing a new pathway to try to bring the creek into the garden more. Ultimately I hope to put another gate into the garden from the outside in the northwest corner which would be one end of the new path out along the creek.
So there you have it. Satellite photos, hand drawings and regular photos used to give an over view of the garden.

Great post Mark! So many visual mediums at play, and high tech to low fidelity no less :)
