The Garden Geek would like to announce a "Plant Sale & Open Garden Tour"

When: Saturday and Sunday, August 29th & 30th
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Location: 11110 Lochard St., Oakland, Ca
Foothill exit off 580, near the Oakland zoo

The tour is being held at the home garden of Merciari Designs, a mother and son design and build team.
TGG member and plant enthusiast serialplantfetishist took the attached pictures at one of Merciari Designers previous open garden tours.
The owners started their landscape makeover about 8 years ago.
They have a knack with exotic plants, using them in mouthwatering combinations. Added to the mix are some unusual garden elements.
We think touring this fabulous garden with a friend or a special someone would be a great weekend activity for Bay Area Garden Geeks. You may be able to acquire some interesting plants at the tour, and an inside source says that there might be a nearby garden open for visiting as well.

Hey, I can see all the photos now. I scarcely recognize them but I think the place looks great too. I'm planning on going early Saturday and possibly bringing the camera again. The plants for sale can be pretty enticing but I'm going as much to see the garden again as for the them.

I got a macbook pro with a 13 inch screen. I was concerned about the size of the screen but that turned out not to be an issue when I actually tried one. Besides I can connect to a larger screen if I want. Likewise I wanted a key board with a number pad for entering grades but I can connect another keyboard. I like the lit keyboard. Heck last night I went to sleep reading a sample chapter from a book. It's a good size for reading laying down with it on your chest.
